In 2012 DME was involved with ANDRITZ HYDRO Hammerfest (AHH) and their HS1000 prototype tidal turbine device. AHH is at the forefront of the tidal energy industry following the early success of the HS300 in Norway and the more recent full-scale HS1000 located at the European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) site in the Orkney Islands.

DME personnel were involved in marine operations for the summer 2012 phase of the turbine commissioning process. This included diver works and the permanent mooring of a vessel above the machine for a 6-week period, throughout all the cycles of the tide.
